Short and simple, this leash is not made to handle any dog. My dog is 50 pounds. This leash says it is made to handle 75 pounds. This leash lasted less than 2 weeks. It kept locking up and finally when my dog was running, it tore apart the insides. The inside shattered. Bought this a few months back because of the flashlight. Cheap thing broke while inserting the battery. Actually the battery compartment went through the lens part knocking out the lens cover, the bulb section, and separating the metal lead to the bulb section. I'm just 5'2" and not that strong to slide batteries in a product to the extent the whole insides would shoot out from the opposite end. Also the lead is counter-intuitive and operates the opposite of a typical flexi-lead. Could deal with that if it weren't for the other minuses. Despite the picture, it uses the old-fashioned cord string retracting lead that can cause rope burn on skin (personal experience) rather than the flat leash-like cord the newer retractable leashes use that aren't so dangerous. Very flimsy and decides to retract or not whenever it wants w/o touching the trigger and regardless of pushing the tab over to allow automatic retraction. They have a new version on Bed, Bath, And Beyond that looks more solid and...
