My Aunt is a dog groomer, and when she heard I adopted a Welsh Terrier, she insisted I must hand strip her coat vs. cutting with clippers. I bought this stripping knife to try out the grooming method. After watching a couple of you tube videos, I attempted to strip my dogs coat, and with success. I was able to easily pull out the dead hairs leaving her undercoat intact. I do suggest reading up/watching videos on stripping before attempting so you do it properly.
Further, after stripping for a few months, her coat color became more intense (her black is now jet black her brown is now a dark reddish brown) and felt more coarse, as is breed standard for a Welsh terrier. Great grooming tool!
